What is your SAT/ACT Target Score?

Before starting self-study or working with a tutor, the first thing you must do is find out what your current SAT or ACT score is by taking a timed ACT practice test or SAT practice test.  Then after you have calculated your score, think about what score you need to achieve, to get into the college of your dreams.

So, Google the colleges you are applying to with the phrase “average ACT/SAT”  For example: “Boston College average SAT”  or “The University of North Carolina average ACT” and your search will return the results you are looking for. In addition, you can go to each college’s “About” page on their web site and they will give you a clear breakdown of scores their previous successful applicants received.

After you find the average SAT or ACT score for all your colleges, take the average of all these averages to get your target score.  Now that you know your current score and your target test score, you will have a clear goal in mind, and with the help of a tutor you can create a structured study plan will get you to that goal.

Here’s to your success!
